Architect with a degree from the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador - Quito in 2003. He also holds a specialization in real estate management by the Tecnologico de Monterrey 2007. He was project manager for the largest private real state organization in Ecuador for 8 years and later opened his private practice. In 2014 he obtained a master's degree at the TU Delft (Cum Laude), majoring in architectural engineering and technology in sustainable development, where he also was the leading student of the Dutch team that participated in the Solar Decathlon Europe Paris-2014, winning the first place in sustainability, among other awards.

At the public sector he was Metropolitan Director of Urban Development 2015, being part of the team that proposed and helped approved by the city council the Metropolitan Plan for Development and Land Use 2015-2025. Later in 2016 was the main technical adviser at the Secretary of Planning, Habitat and Housing at the Municipality of the Metropolitan District of Quito, where he was in charge of important strategic projects of land management and urban planning of the city, including the regulation that would enable the densification of areas surrounding the mass transit system of the city in compliance with minimum requirements of eco-efficiency.

He is currently Chief Resilience Officer under the 100 Resilient Cities program for Quito and was Resilience Adviser for UNDP with the main task to develop and implement the Resilience Strategy of Quito. He has being professor of undergraduate and currently professor for master's degree at the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador-Quito. He is part of the SUMS (Social Urban Metabolism Strategies) for cities research team and co-lead of WP6 of the CLEVER Cities research proposal for the EU. He is part of the Program Committee for the ICLEI’s Resilient Cities World Congress and part of the 2018 Communities and Affordable Homes Advisory Group for the USGBC’s Greenbuild International Conference & Expo in Chicago, among other committees related to sustainable development.
