Currently a visiting professor at the Institute for Urban & Regional Planning (ISR), Technical University of Berlin, Arun is a global consultant, teacher, researcher and mentor on issues relating to improved city life. He has over 30 years of international experience and contributed to urban development projects totaling over 14 billion US dollars in investment capital.
He is a board member of the IFHP (International Federation of Housing & Planning) and also on the advisory board of ARUS (Advanced Research in Urban Systems) University of Duisburg-Essen. He is an advisor to the Indian state of Karnataka, and has several past and ongoing involvements with UN Habitat (an expert on the development of urban SDG's - Goal 11) and is a expert on one of the 10 Habitat III policy units.
Arun's interests include decision support tools for complex planning and urban design environments, issues relating to the democratization of data, and helping comprehend and address urban development issues across a wide range of geographies, cultures and scales.
