People’s Climate Vote 2024

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the University of Oxford have released the Peoples' Climate Vote 2024, a comprehensive survey on climate change attitudes spanning 77 countries and representing 87% of the global population. This second edition of the survey, following its 2021 predecessor, posed 15 unprecedented questions to gauge public sentiment on climate change impacts, national responses, and desired global actions, providing the most extensive account of public opinion on the issue to date.

The survey's findings come at a critical juncture, with global emissions continuing to rise and climate change accelerating beyond scientific predictions, amidst a backdrop of multiple global crises including conflicts and widening inequalities. With over half the world's population potentially voting in 2024, the insights from this survey are crucial for decision-makers navigating these complex challenges. The results offer valuable guidance for policymakers and leaders in addressing climate change concerns and shaping future strategies.
