The Walkability Institute is a non-profit organization led by women, founded in 2012, which, driven by the urgency to achieve gender equity and address the climate crisis, develops cities where people and walking are a priority. To achieve this goal, it carries out collaborative and prioritized projects and actions for vulnerable populations, particularly in marginalized territories, creating bridges between civil society, government, and other actors, through two fronts of action: promoting the culture of walking and humanizing cities. The organization aims to create more just environments that improve the quality of life for all people by ensuring access, collaboration, sustainability, safety, welcoming, health, and dynamism.
