I have been a passionate urban and regional planner for a decade, as a project manager and then deputy director, teaching assistant, professional association leader and consultant. My core drive is bridging the gap between cities and new technologies, whether that means working with authorities and local communities to support change management, or developing comprehensive plans for sustainable urban and metropolitan development, pilot projects or policies for nature-based solutions, decarbonization, innovation and new forms of urban governance.
My doctoral research focused on integrated strategic planning in the multi-level governance context of metropolitan areas. I am a University Assistant at the „Ion Mincu” University for Architecture and Planning in Bucharest and a member of several professional associations, including current (2021-2023) president of the Romanian Professional Planners Association, URBACT Expert, member of ISOCARP and the APA.
I've worked on several integrated urban development strategies for small and middle-sized cities as well as metropolitan areas in the EU, Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans, sectoral / Smart City strategies. Experienced in designing and implementing projects on CIP ICT-PSP, Horizon2020, DTP, URBACT, recently UIA.
Current interests include urban sustainability, nature-based and culture-led regeneration approaches, smart / digital city solutions, as well as institutional innovation supporting sustainable and inclusive urban development.
