Since April 1st (2014) I work for a period of one year in Berlin. "Embedded" at the Senatsverwaltung für Stadtentwicklung und Umwelt (Senate Department for Urban Development and Environment), I work on developing a knowledge transfer between the city of Amsterdam and the city of Berlin. My focus is on the role of government in a rapidly changing society with more bottom-up civic society initiatives and activities; "In between top-down and bottom-up approaches". I am interested in urban development, both physically and socially and mostly in disadvantaged areas. In particular I am interested in (international) politics and policy making.
