The HLPF is the main United Nations platform for following up and reviewing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. It provides political leadership, guidance, and recommendations for sustainable development. The HLPF's main responsibilities include: reviewing Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), providing a platform for countries to share their experiences and lessons learned, and monitoring progress on the SDGs.
The 2025 HLPF will focus on the following Sustainable Development Goals: SDG 5 (Gender Equality), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), and SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities). Additionally, the HLPF will review SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), SDG 13 (Climate Action), SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
