Sustainable Development Goals

On 25 September 2015, the global community agreed to a set of 17 goals to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure peace and prosperity for all. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) form a roadmap for global development efforts to 2030 and beyond.

The SDGs, together with the Addis Ababa Action Agenda on Financing for Development  (a global plan for financing the Goals), form the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. There are 169 targets within the SDGs, with each goal having a set of indicators to help measure progress. The SDG framework does not distinguish between developed and developing nations: the goals apply to all countries.
