The World Habitat Awards welcome entries from all over the world.

For over 30 years, the World Habitat Awards – run in partnership with UN-Habitat – have celebrated pioneering approaches to housing challenges, providing international recognition to exceptional projects and programmes. In total, more than 250 have been recognised, each one transforming the lives of individuals, families and communities through housing.
David Ireland, Chief Executive of World Habitat, said:
“Somewhere safe and secure to live should be a fundamental human right for everyone. But for more than one-in-seven people – this is not their reality. And the COVID-19 pandemic has intensified the many impacts of poor housing and living conditions.
“However, what we do know from the entries to our World Habitat Awards is that there are an incredible number of projects and programmes across the world that are making great progress in ensuring the right to housing for millions of people. And through the Awards, we want to celebrate your work and get the best ideas and solutions to where they are needed most, so even more people and communities can benefit.
“Please take the time to tell us about your work and enter the 2021 World Habitat Awards. It is critical that the best solutions to the serious housing challenges are given the recognition and prominence that they deserve. As in previous years, we are particularly interested in hearing from those which have a strong focus on the climate emergency, and diversity, equality and inclusion.”
The application deadline is 15 March 2021.
Two winners of the 2021 World Habitat Awards will receive a Gold Award and £10,000. There will also be Silver and Bronze Awards for other outstanding projects and programmes. In addition, Gold Award Winners will have the opportunity to share their approach to housing solutions through World Habitat’s exChange programme.
