Urban Nature, encompassing green spaces, parks, urban forests, and other natural elements within cities, plays a crucial role in advancing sustainable development and supporting several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By integrating natural ecosystems into urban environments, we can protect, restore, and promote terrestrial ecosystems, combat land degradation, and conserve biodiversity within cities. This approach enhances the health and well-being of urban residents while mitigating the effects of climate change
Local governments in cities can take immediate action by implementing comprehensive urban greening strategies, expanding and protecting urban green spaces through sustainable urban planning, and engaging communities to foster stewardship and appreciation of urban nature for a more liveable and sustainable future.
