UCLG (United Cities and Local Governments) peer learning addresses the contemporary challenges faced by cities and regions and promotes decentralized cooperation to boost sustainable development.

Since the first peer-learning exchange in Durban in 2011, UCLG has promoted peer-learning as a platform for sharing experiences and capacity building. The key objectives of the peer-learning programme are the transfer of knowledge, skills and experience from one municipality to another, the provision of technical assistance to solve specific municipal challenges and the facilitation of benchmarking to inspire change and other forms of peer support.
UCLG also promotes the role of women in local decision-making, and is a gateway to relevant information on local government across the world.

The next UCLG Learning Forum will take place on November 12th during UCLG World Congress in Durban.
