This year, our community has expanded to 692 citymakers spanning 442 cities across the globe, and we have published 41 new case studies. We gratefully acknowledge our organisational partners, whose invaluable support and collaborative spirit have been instrumental in advancing our shared mission and collective impact.
Our two priority topics this year were Cultural Heritage and Climate Action. Throughout the year, we published case studies and content that delved into various aspects of these themes. Notable contributions included use position interviews with key experts, including Maria Victoria Alcaraz, Director of Cultural Cooperation for the City of Buenos Aires, Shanon Shea Miller, Director of the City of San Antonio Office of Historic Preservation and Triin Pikk, Tartu With Earth Programme Line Manager and member of the European Capital of Culture Tartu 2024 team.
In 2024, the critical importance of knowledge exchange and network building between local government officials, city administrators, NGOs, academics, and researchers at the international level has become increasingly evident.This heightened need stems from continued conflicts and evolving global geopolitical tensions, the ongoing recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, and the intensifying climate crisis. . As we look towards the future, these collaborative efforts remain crucial in addressing complex global challenges, promoting sustainable solutions, and building resilience in an interconnected world.
