A heartfelt thank you to all participants, speakers, and partners who made the Digital Citymakers’ Summit 2025 a truly inspiring and impactful experience!

In an increasingly interconnected world, collaboration between cities is not just valuable — it’s essential. But how can urban actors transform local actions into global impact? What are the key factors that make international city-to-city collaboration work? These were some of the core questions explored at this year’s Digital Citymakers’ Summit #DCS2025, the use platform’s annual event, held online on March 28, 2025. It brought together citymakers from over 35 cities including Germany, Brazil, South Africa, South Korea, United States, Indonesia, Mexico, Turkey, Morocco, France and many more.

Opening the summit, Martina Klement emphasized the importance of cities as drivers of global change. The event was moderated by Rainer Seider, Head of International Affairs at the Berlin Senate Chancellery, who guided a distinguished panel discussion featuring:

  • Jordi Vaquer, Secretary General, Metropolis

  • Santiago García Vence, City of Buenos Aires

  • Julia Lopez Ventura, Regional Director Europe, C40 Cities

Together, they explored the topic “Urban Collaborations: Local Actions, Global Impact”, drawing on diverse experiences from across the globe to examine how cities can lead the way toward sustainable and inclusive urban futures.

This was followed by five dynamic networking sessions, each hosted by one of the use platform’s key institutional partners – Metropolis, C40, World Habitat, Eurocities, and UCLG Committee on Culture – and focused on practical examples of urban solutions for today’s most pressing challenges:

  • Sustainable Mobility for Inclusive Cities (Metropolis)

  • Implementing Climate Budgeting (C40)

  • Community-Led Housing for Inclusion (World Habitat)

  • Local Strategies for Demographic Change (Eurocities)

  • Heritage, Climate Change, and Sustainable Development (UCLG)

The Digital Citymakers’ Summit 2025 once again provided a vibrant space for meaningful exchange among citymakers from across continents, strengthening networks and sharing ideas to shape better cities for all.
