Each calendar quarter, the use platform focuses on a priority topic relating to the Sustainable Development Goals. The theme serves as the foundation for much of the editorial content published during the quarter. Following on from Just Cities and the Common Good and Green Cities, the next use:topic is New Urban Democracy. From October to December 2021, the use platform will feature essays, interviews, news and case studies related to public participation in local governance matters - community activism, social inclusion, gender equality, youth engagement, freedom of information and media and fair electoral processes.
We invite interested citymakers and local governments to contribute

- recommendations for publications, reports or other useful resources for our use picks format.
- announcements for events, conferences, awards and other ongoing activities
related to the New Urban Democracy topic.
Contributions will be promoted on the use website and via our bi-weekly Community News, twitter feed and further through the Metropolis social media channels and newsletter.
