Gender and Local Governments

The International Centre for the Advancement of Human Rights (CIPDH-UNESCO) has recently published a digital guide on Gender and Local Governments as a resource for local governments in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Established  in 2009 in Buenos Aries, CIPDH-UNESCO was the first UNESCO Category 2 Centre in the world dedicated to promoting human rights.

The publication provides information on discriminatory issues faced by women in Latin America and the Caribbean, along with actions and policies aimed at achieving gender equity and inclusion.  There are also case studies documenting initiatives that have been already implemented by local governments to address these issues including results and lessons learned.
