This report facilitated by UCLG explores the significant connection between culture and sustainable development, highlighting the essential part culture plays in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 agenda. The report posits that even though the presence of culture and heritage in the SDGs seems sparse (thus advocating for a proposed SDG 18 to directly address them), they serve as integral aspects of adapting sustainability agendas at a local level.
The report also examines projects, programmes and policies developed by local and regional governments, civil society organisations, informal groups, heritage professionals and other relevant bodies.
