How are cities changing as climate gets hotter, wetter and more unpredictable?
A new USE case study looks at Too Hot: Heiße Städte, neue Wege, an exhibition at the Deutsches Architekturmuseum (German Architecture Museum) in Frankfurt am Main from 20 June 2026 to 7 February 2027. The exhibition brings together examples from 13 European cities and and shows how climate action is already taking place in streets, parks, housing areas, infrastructure and public spaces.
The examples range from stormwater management in Copenhagen and restored rivers in Łódź to climate shelters in Paris, green axes in Barcelona, climate-sensitive housing in Vienna and ecological restoration in Lappeenranta.
The exhibition does not promote a single model. Instead, it compares built projects, strategic plans and civic initiatives side by side, and connects them with wider questions about public space, housing, mobility, infrastructure, health, biodiversity and social justice. Expert interviews on health, resource management and greenwashing expand the perspective beyond design and planning.
