Appointed Senior Planning Advisor with Municipal Affairs, Municipal Services and Legislation division, Olimpia offers professional city & regional planning and policy services. Mrs. Pantelimon has over 20 years of professional city & regional planning and community development experience working across Canada, as associate with consultancy, and as planning professional with municipalities in the Metropolitan Montreal area, Capital Region, and the Government (Nunavut, Federal, Alberta).
She has managed numerous complex planning projects studies and assignments involving cross-sector teams requiring strict attention to quality, scope, time and cost management. She is a strong advocate of sustainable development, healthy built environment, and of UNESCO heritage sites. Olimpia is bilingual, registered professional planner with the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP), Alberta Professional Planning Institute (APPI), urbaniste with the Ordre des urbanistes du Quebec (OUQ). Appointed expert Peer Reviewer for the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) Green Municipal Fund (GMF) since 2010 she works on the assessment of integrated sustainable plans, studies and capital projects on Energy Efficiency, Climate Change Action Plans, Water, and Brownfields from coast to coast.
Active and passionate about Healthy Cities and cities’ future, Olimpia has been appointed for a second mandate as Chair Healthy Communities Committee Canadian Institute of Planners. She facilitates collaborative work between health and planning professionals with the aim to enable transfer of knowledge and scientific evidence to professionals and policy makers.
