Michael Abraham studied urban and regional planning at the Technische Universiät Berlin and as the recipient of a DAAD scholarship, he undertook further research in the field of architecture at Montana State University, USA. Since 2006 he has based his work as a city and regional planner in the city of Berlin. At Technische Universiät he first worked in the department of integrated transportation planning, and is now at the Mobility and Space research unit in the Centre for Technology and Society. His research projects focus on innovative and sustainable mobility concepts in cities worldwide, and on enabling mutual learning between them. These research interests extend to practical engagements with public institutions like the Berlin Senate Department for Urban Development and the Environment, where he focuses on supporting the transfer of knowledge between the cities of the METROPOLIS network.
