Lucinda Hartley is a landscape architect and urban designer who has spent the better part of a decade working to better connect people with places. She advises locally and globally on approaches to urban development that are faster, cheaper and simpler. Lucinda spent two years working in slum communities in Vietnam and Cambodia before co-founding CoDesign Studio. CoDesign is a placemaking social enterprise that helps local communities create low cost improvements to streets and public spaces.

Lucinda is also an elected representative to the UN-Habitat Youth Advisory Board, a Fellow of the Collaborative for Inclusive Urbanism and a member of the global Place Leadership Council. Her work in community development has been widely recognised including the 2012 AILA Jim Sinatra Leadership Award, a 2010 Youth Action Net Global Fellowship and an Asialink Weary Dunlop Fellowship. Lucinda was also listed in The Age Melbourne Magazine in 2012 as one of Melbourne’s ‘Top 100’ most influential people.
