Lookman Oshodi, Commonwealth Professional Fellow is the Project Director of Arctic Infrastructure (AI), a private organization with broad focus on infrastructure delivery, urban development and the environment. He has wealth of experience in different areas of infrastructure ranging from housing, transportation, energy, water and sanitation. With resourceful expertise in infrastructure project design, implementation, management and financing, he has been leading Arctic Infrastructure (AI) as a key player in the global infrastructure market. Recently, he had been exploring the possibility of using smart and climate resilience infrastructure to drive the regeneration of cities in developing countries.
He had previously led the Heinrich Boll Stiftung (hbs) study project on housing and transport infrastructure in the city of Lagos and currently leading the Heinrich Boll Stiftung (hbs) study project on housing types and mortgage system in Lagos State. He is coordinating the Dutch Alliance for Sustainable Urban Development in Africa (DASUDA) development project which is exploring Lagos lagoon as a key element in delivering affordable housing, transportation, water, green public spaces and sustainable environmental development in Lagos.
He is working with Save the Children International, SUPPORT of Switzerland, Water Aid UK and Community Energy Scotland on design and construction of various water and sanitation, healthcare, energy, housing and other urban infrastructure projects.
In 2014, he was the lead consultant for Institute for Liberty and Democracy (ILD), Peru on the project to reform land and housing delivery in Lagos under the auspices of the Lagos State Ministry of Commerce and Industry. He led the preparation of proposed Lagos State Social Housing Policy and Buckminster Fuller Award finalist Makoko/Iwaya Waterfront Regeneration Plan that targets affordable housing and multiple infrastructure in Makoko/Iwaya Waterfront Community. The policy and the plan have since been submitted to the Lagos State Government for consideration and implementation.
