Environmental & Public Health International (EPHI) is a global leader in drinking water training, public health preparedness, and climate adaptive drinking water infrastructure planning. Our work draws on lessons from the Flint Water Crisis and strengthens safe drinking water practices across federal, state, Tribal, and local levels.
We provide specialized training for federal regulators, state primacy agencies, and public water system operators, using real world case studies to improve drinking water quality and prevent future public health emergencies. Our programs advance climate resilience, equitable access to safe drinking water, and evidence based decision making.
Our Lead Service Line Replacement Cost Calculator (LSLRCC) is recognized by the United Nations Environment Programme as an innovative tool that supports safe drinking water equity and climate resilient drinking water infrastructure. It helps utilities, municipalities, and Tribal governments implement the EPA Lead and Copper Rule Improvements and make progress on SDG 3, SDG 6, SDG 11, and SDG 13.
EPHI is a United Nations Global Compact WASH Pledge Signatory and a contributor to the United Nations Decade on Ecosystem Restoration, reinforcing our commitment to expanding access to safe drinking water and advancing the Sustainable Development Goals.
EPHI was founded by Anthony Ross, former EPA Flint Safe Drinking Water Act Emergency Coordinator, who led critical efforts to restore safe drinking water in Flint and strengthen national drinking water oversight.
