David is an urban development expert with a focus on urban-innovation, social entrepreneurship, human-centred design, and participatory research. He has over 14 years experience in social, neighbourhood and urban planning and, in working with large complex organisations, businesses, urban poor federations, local community groups and city government and planning authorities. David currently leads the City Resilience and Sustainable Futures practice at the City of Melbourne. David has broader social impact experience having led NAB Foundation's grant development and investment to address complex social and environmental challenges in Australia. He also leads a social impact consultancy, The Urban Platform Studio, focused supporting the for-purpose sector to address urban development issues by developingand embedding urban resiliencethinkin, strategy and practice. He is a former Urban Strategy Adviser and Innovation Lead for Save the Children Australia, one of Australia's largest agencies dedicated to helping children in need. He is a Visiting Fellow with the Institute for Culture and Society at Western Sydney University, and recipient of the 2016 Asialink Leaders Program Dunlop Fellowship.
