The Climate Change Center Berlin Brandenburg (CCC) envisions itself as a transdisciplinary centre for research and knowledge transfer. Together with representatives from politics, business, and civil society, we are working to deliver the climate targets defined in the Paris Agreement.

The Climate Alliance Berlin-Brandenburg, led by the Technische Universität Berlin, is now supported by 34 universities, research institutes and think tanks. The common goal is to support the development of research projects and to work out solutions for specific needs in the region.

In addition to the Technische Universität Berlin (TU Berlin), the founding members of the Climate Change Center Berlin Brandenburg include the Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, the Berlin University of the Arts, the Freie Universität Berlin, the University of Potsdam and the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK).

The CCC is funded by the Berlin Senate Department for Higher Education and Research, Health, Long-Term Care and Gender Equality and the Einstein Foundation Berlin. Another important milestone of the CCC is the founding of the Einstein Center Climate Change and Public Policy of Human Settlements (ECCC, in formation), which is funded by the Einstein Foundation Berlin. Scientific spokespersons for the ECCC are TU Berlin professor and director of PIK, Prof. Dr. Ottmar Edenhofer, and Prof. Dr. Felix Creutzig from the TU Berlin and the Mercator Research Institute on Global Commons and Climate Change.

The CCC collaborates with leading international centres of climate research including University of California at Berkeley, Columbia University New York, the University of Cambridge, and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
