Cities as Global Actors

Representatives from Berlin's 18 partner cities spanning Paris to Jakarta to Buenos Aires will convene for the "Cities as Global Actors" conference, exploring urban diplomacy and climate action on a global scale.

The public conference day on December 2, 2025, themed "Cities as Climate Actors: Responsibility, Innovation, Action," will examine how municipalities worldwide are confronting the climate crisis through innovative measures and concrete action. The event aims to foster dialogue, spark new collaborations, and amplify cities' role as catalysts in global climate policy.

Distinguished speakers include Prof. Dr. Johan Rockström, who will present the Planetary Boundaries concept highlighting the urgency of urban climate protection, and Prof. Carlos Moreno, who will share his transformative 15-minute city concept for sustainable urban spaces.
