The COVID-19 crisis has highlighted the role of local governments as they have largely overseen managing the public health emergency. Furthermore, and due to the changes brought about by the pandemic, many local governments are in the process of rethinking their cities in terms of planning, mobility, public space and immediate access to services. Digital technology can assist in rethinking processes and offers new components for the coordination and integration of efforts in urban areas.
